I’m a professional skating development coach with 40 years dedicated to improving the most fundamental part of hockey: skating. I founded Power Hour in 1998, and for the past 27 years I’ve focused exclusively on skating mechanics and stride efficiency, teaching more than 50,000 lessons to athletes across all levels: youth to NCAA Division I, PWHL, OHL, AHL, KHL, USA Hockey National Team, Olympians, and NHL players. I currently serve as the Skating Consultant for the NHL San Jose Sharks, and I’m a member coach and presenter for both the NHL Coaches Association (NHLCA) Female Development Program and The Coaches Site. In 2025, we became a Proud Partner of the AHL San Jose Barracuda, allowing us to expand our impact across the Sharks/Barracuda development systems.

My work has been featured by The Wall Street Journal, Sports Illustrated, ESPN, NHL.com, Sharks’ Making Waves, The Undercurrent podcast, The Fin Factor, and other national coaching platforms. I also advise sports-technology companies on skating analytics, product testing, and development.

In 2018, we opened Extra Hour Hockey Training, a controlled environment designed to accelerate skating development using a skating treadmill (10,000+ lessons taught), synthetic-ice lanes, mini-rink training, and detailed small-area skill stations. By isolating stride mechanics, balance, edge control, posture, and force production - while providing far more high-quality reps than traditional ice time - we help players transfer improved mechanics directly to real-ice speed, confidence, and game performance.
